And yet:
- Research on the prevention of mental health disorders is almost non-existent in Quebec
- Nearly one in two young people between the ages of 12 and 25 say they have symptoms consistent with a generalized anxiety disorder or major depression*.
- Despite the gains made in recent years, suicide remains the second leading cause of death among adolescents and young adults.
It is important to find ways to prevent mental health disorders, which is why we have launched a Mental Health Fundraising Campaign supporting five key prevention research projects, the details of which can be seen here.
